Avoiding the Sickness

There were a few people sick at work last week. I avoided them like the plague. I do IT support so when they called me, even though we were in the same building, I connected remotely to their computer. There was no way I was going to go into their office and touching their infected computers. Throughout the day I washed my hands and used hand sanitizer when needed. I do not need to get sick right now

About 3am Sunday morning we were awaken by what sounded like someone dumping buckets of water in my house. When the wife and I go to check it out, we find our oldest daughter puking her head off at the top of the stairs that lead into her room. It was like a cascading waterfall of the previous night's dinner. All over the stairs, the walls, ceiling and all the way down to the front door at the bottom of the steps. It was like something straight out of the movies! It just couldn't be real...

It was everywhere!!!!

After making sure she was ok and there was no need to call our priest.... we just laughed. At 3 in the morning what else could we do?.... The laughter soon turned to tears as we realized that we had to clean all this mess up. I would have much rather set the house on fire....

So week from the mother of all marathons, I have a kid with a fever and the stomach bug and there is no avoiding it. We need to take care of her...... Paranoia is already setting in. Every burp, every stomach rumble, every fart, makes me think that I'm next.

Would be my luck.........

......hoping for a speedy recovery and that it's not contagious :(

Good luck - I got really sick the week before my first marathon. I know this isn't your first one, but it's big one. You'll be fine. Hope everyone gets well soon.

Oh I would be a total nervous mess! I hope your daughter is feeling better..that's so miserable, but I really, really hope you don't catch it!

You have only two options. Move into a motel for a week and avoid all human contact. Or pray really hard and hope that all the naughty things you've done in your life don't come back to bite you on the bum.

Good luck!

one week to go, buddy.....CAN YOU FEEL IT??? :>)

Maybe I'll see you at the Expo......probably going in on Saturday. Not yet sure where we're going to set up shop to cheer on Monday.....might be on the bridge over 128 coming out of Newton Lower Falls, or further down near Newton-Wellesley Hospital......might be somewhere on the Newton Hills? As soon as I know, I'll let you know......man, I wish I was running this one with you!

Here's to hoping that the sickness stays with all of those sicklings that are sick now, and that the sickness does not come your way. (Disturbed - Down with the Sickness came to mind as I read your post, esp the pictures) Take care, and maybe you can live in a bubble like that movie.
