In a Funk....

I have plenty of funk to pass around.

Marathon is done..... again I ask "What now?"... I've been nursing my achy legs since then and haven't really put in any long runs or any good runs for that matter. The thought of another marathon this year has been thrown out the window. Just not feeling it lately.

I need to get out of this funk!!

So, just now, I've decided that I'm going to run a 5 mile race this July 4th. The Leonide J. Lemire 63th annual Road Race. This is said to be the second longest consecutively run race in the country (Boston being number one). Not sure how true that is, but none the less, I will run it.

Hopefully this will light that fire back in me. Cause, boy, I need it.

Boy, do I know that feeling! Not now, but I've been there before. You'll get it back. ;) We always do.

what Pam said - allow yourself to rest, and soon, you'll be itching to get back out there and it'll start feeling good again. this heat sure isn't helping (me anyway)!

Cross training will have you stronger and faster and motivated. Beachbody has some good stuff. I recommend Insanity.

It takes time to recover after a marathon. Focus on some shorter distance stuff and try out some cross training. You just need a break!

Just go out and have fun and remember why you love to do this stuff. Sometimes the long hours of training and build up to a big race day have their way of taking their toll on us. You'll get back the fire!

I think everyone gets in a "funk" after they're done with something they have trained so hard for...I'm sure your body needed the break, but your mind is having trouble with it!!

so...how was the race yesterday? Did you rock it? I bet you did ;)
